How to Store Film Faced Plywood Between Concrete Pours

Jun 24, 2026

Film faced plywood often fails early because of storage, not because of the board itself. After demolding, concrete slurry should be removed before it dries too hard on the film. Panels should then be stacked flat, with small spacers if the surface is still damp. This lets air move and keeps the board from sitting in water. If wet panels are pressed together for a long time, the edge can start to swell before the next pour begins.

Direct sunlight for many days can also affect the film surface and edge paint. A covered storage place is better, especially when the same panels will be used again next week. Workers should put damaged sheets aside instead of mixing them into the next stack. This makes the next formwork setup faster and avoids surprise gaps during fixing. A short check before stacking is easier than stopping a crew during concrete work.
